The Worcester Youth Development and Professional Leadership Symposium (WYDPLS) is a collaboration between the City of Worcester, Worcester Community Action Council, Worcester Public Schools, The State Treasurer’s Office of Economic Empowerment, Mass Hire (formally known as the Workforce Investment Board) and the YouthConnect Coalition. The mission of the WYDPLS is to provide free, trauma-informed training opportunities to youth workers and youth that work who would like to work or are working during the summer months in Worcester. WYDPLS trainings are meant to supplement trainings offered by local employers and help expand local free training opportunities. Through these trainings, WYDPLS intends to help create local quality benchmarks for Youth Work and strengthen community networks.
The Worcester Youth Development and Professional Leadership Symposium will run from June 24th – June 28th 2019 from 9:00am-3:30pm.
WCAC gratefully acknowledges Fallon Community Health who will generously be supporting the meals WYDPLS participants will receive throughout the week long training.
We are presently seeking youth development, community development, economic development, mental health professionals, and public health professionals, who are interested in volunteering as trainers during the 2019 WYDPLS.
