The Job & Education Center (JEC)

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Federal Stimulus funded Job & Education Center (JEC) serves as a career readiness center providing individualized services for income-eligible youth ages 16-24.

 

The JEC connects participants to educational and employment supports to include: Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED classes, college readiness skills, High School Credit Recovery, college certificate programs, career exploration, internship opportunities, job coaching, and job placement. Each JEC participant will receive case management and support in the transition to meaningful employment and an improved quality of life.

 

The JEC will serve 100 youth through September 30, 2010, as well as a small cohort of adult immigrant participants through the East African Community Outreach Program.  

 

Participants must be Worcester residents, meet income guidelines, and successfully complete an application and interview process.
