Our mission is to stimulate change in the fundamental causes of poverty and to create and provide opportunities for economic self-sufficiency through services, partnership, and advocacy.
The Worcester Community Action Council was started in 1965 as the locally designated "community action" agency for the Economic Opportunity Act. Today, we serve as an umbrella agency for 21 education and social service programs.

This is the second year that Unum has generously provided Tuckerman's
Hall as the venue for the evening, sponsored Shirley's Catering from Fitchburg, and secured Holmes & Shusas florist, Worcester, for this event. 33 young adults achieved GED and 10 Job & Education Center participants were recognized for workforce readiness accomplishments.
